This project was to design an addition to the existing house, situated on the steep hill, expanding the kitchen, and adding living space above the garage. The existing space had a solid north wall and felt dark and a little claustrophobic. I have created larger kitchen/dining area opening it to the North visually, by providing windows and skylights, and physically with north doors leading to the deck.
